10 Back to School Lunch and Snack Ideas

Getting back into the swing of school can be difficult, not only for kids, but parents as well. That is why we compiled a list of some quick lunch and snack ideas to relieve some of the stress of going back to school, and also to have a little fun with food too!

1. Mānuka Honey, Berry & Greek Yogurt Parfait

Start the morning right with this Mānuka Honey, Berry and Greek Yogurt Parfait recipe. Use a glass or medium sized jar to layer the parfait. Start with 1/3 of the granola, then top with a spoonful of yogurt, followed by a dollop of the berry coulis, and repeat the layers until you fill the cup. Drizzle with Mānuka honey for extra sweetness and a nutritional boost!

2. DIY Pizza Lunchables

Start with a tortilla or naan, add a layer of marinara sauce, and toppings of your choice, such as pepperoni, peppers, onions, olives, etc. You can microwave it to melt the cheese, or eat as is if your child's school doesn’t have a microwave, both are delicious!

3. Turkey Sandwich

You can never go wrong with this classic and simple meal! Start with two slices of bread, add mayo or mustard, and then layer on the turkey slices. Boost the nutritional value by adding a drizzle of Mānuka honey on the other side of the bread before closing the sandwich.

4. Honey Cinnamon Apples

Simply slice apples and put into a tupperware, drizzle with honey and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Instead of using plain honey, use Mānuka honey to give your kids an added boost of immunity support, as well as a unique texture and taste. A delicious and healthy treat to keep your little ones satiated throughout the day.

5. Tuna Salad

Start with a drained can of tuna, add mayo, dijon or even honey mustard for added sweetness, celery, salt and pepper to taste, mix and enjoy! This can be enjoyed with crackers or on bread as a sandwich.

The cheese quesadilla is a classic favorite because it’s super quick to prepare! Add your tortilla to a pan and heat up with some butter or olive oil, add cheese and wait until it is melted, then close it up and serve. It’s simple as that!

7. Chicken Salad Sandwich

There are so many ways to make a chicken salad sandwich, this is another versatile and quick meal kids (and parents alike!) are sure to love. Start with shredded chicken, add mayo, mustard of your choice, salt and pepper, a little celery for crunch, then mix & serve!
